Deep Sea Fishing Trip FAQs
- Where are we going?
Deep Sea Fishing off the coast of SC. The boat is located at the Crazy Sister Marina, Murrell’s Inlet, SC.
- Who is invited?
Faith Baptist Church provides this opportunity for its members, guests, and friends. The entire boat is reserved for this occasion.
- How many people can go?
The boat will accommodate 80 people; however we are capping our number at 60 in order to have a little extra room to spread out.
- What is the cost?
The cost per person is $105.00. This covers your boat fee, license, all equipment and bait.
- How do I get there?
Faith Baptist Church will provide bus transportation to and from the Marina at no extra cost. It will leave at 12 a.m. on Saturday morning, August 20, and return sometime after midnight Sunday morning, August 21. You may, of course, travel on your own. Plan to be at the Marina by 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
- What about food?
There will be a cash canteen on the boat and/or you may bring a cooler with sandwiches, drinks, and snacks.
- What about sea-sickness?
There are many things you can do to keep motion sickness at bay.
A few options are: 1) a prescription from your doctor for a patch;
2) Dramamine; 3) a Ginger supplement. Check with your physician to see what might be best for you.
- Will I catch fish, and if so, what kind?
You will definitely catch fish. Some possibilities include:
black sea bass, vermillion snapper, silver snapper, grunts,
triggerfish, grouper, sharks, amberjack, and more.
- What else should I bring?
Items brought by some include: a light jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, cooler with food/drinks, duffle bag with extra shirt or other clothes, camera.
- Are there any other costs?
An electric reel is available if desired. You may reserve one for $10 when you register online (30 available). Additionally, you may want some extra cash to purchase food on the trip down and back, and on the boat. A fish stringer can be purchased for $2 or you may bring your own. At the close of the trip, tips will be taken for the crew. There is also a fish-cleaning service at the Marina for a nominal fee.
